•         HOW WE MET We met at a Dinner and Dance held in London, organised for the Singaporean Students in the UK. As fate would have it, we were assigned to the same table. I don't really remember that night but Paul insists I flirted with him...but of course only after he spotted and chatted-up this poor dear sitting all alone by herself at the dinner table! After that night we lost touch, bumping into each other in various places over the next five years. Only this year when we finally met up over fruit juice at Adam Road Hawker Center did the sparks fly! WHEN WE GOT ENGAGED September 28, 2001 HOW IT HAPPENED We kind of jumped the gun and booked the reception venue for the 28th of September 2002. So on the 28th of September this year, I expected something to happen! Paul knew that I was anticipating a proposal on that day so he went out of his way to make it out that this day was nothing out of the ordinary. We went for a candlelight dinner and then a stroll at the park where we had our first date. Only when we were back on my front gate did he start talking about growing old together. And as usual my reply to him would be that he needs to prove his intention! At that point he popped open the glove compartment of the car and there was the engagement ring glittering in the moonlight. I guess my answer was a foregone conclusion but that didn't stop us from shedding a couple of tears and reaffirming our love for each other.
